UNI-TOOL Automation is engineering software developed on Windows 95/98/NT platform for industrial automation, electrical panel and electromechanical device design.

UNI-TOOL Automation consists of a powerful 2D CAD that allows one to generate, in extremely easy and fast way, electromechanical designs with unlimited single/multi-wire auxiliary and/or power sheets, terminal strips and PLC schematics.

In addition to its design functions, UNI-TOOL Automation automatically processes the wire numbering, the filling of the coil/contact cross-reference table for relays and remote control switches, the terminal numbering and the cable definition.

Finally, UNI-TOOL A
utomation directly extracts the entire project documentation composed of terminal lists, cable lists, wiring lists, reference lists and part lists.

UNI-TOOL Automation also perfectly integrates and interfaces with UNI-TOOL Manager, another product of the UNI-TOOL family. With UNI-TOOL Manager it's possible to extract more complex and detailed bills of materials and estimates with prices, labor tables, cost analysis and warehouse management functions.

UNI-TOOL Automation can also automatically process a single sheet belonging to a whole multi-sheet project, in order to extract complete bills of materials with part numbers, codes, descriptions, prices, etc. You may directly extract information from an internal database containing the product descriptions provided by the leading component producers (Siemens, Schneider, Klockner-Moeller, etc.).

UNI-TOOL Automation is developed in a proprietary environment absolutely independent from any other CAD programs (such as AutoCAD® or similar). Engineers and installers will find in this product all the commands and tools necessary for the completion of an electromechanical design with no need to resort to other external software.

It's the UNI-TOOL Automation complete independence from other systems that has made it possible to devise its specific procedures and commands. Thanks to these features, you can generate schematics and designs in a much faster and more intuitive way than compared with programs that operate on an already preexisting basis.


UNI-TOOL Automation is very easy-to-use because it works in Microsoft Windows®.

UNI-TOOL Automation is inexpensive because it's completely autonomous software and it doesn't require other CAD products (such as AutoCAD®) to operate. Therefore its cost is offset with the completion of the first project!

Symbol libraries
Over 1000 symbols in conformity with IEC norms. Visual symbol selection inside of a window that displays all the symbols of the selected library. Direct symbol loading by typing their code (guided mode). Unlimited possibility of either easily creating new symbols or modifying those already provided.

Composed symbols
Composed symbol libraries for "intelligent" management of complex devices (remote control switches, auxiliary contact blocks, etc.), which are composed of multiple symbols placed on different parts of the design.

Design management and automatic processing
Intelligent project management tools with commands to browse through different pages of a multi-sheet design. Design processing with automatic wire numbering, automatic filling of coil/contact cross-reference tables and terminal numbering with possibility of setting numbering parameters.

Powerful graphical functions
Design with Cartesian, polar and tilted axis. Selectable measure units, design scale and grid points. A4, A3, A2, A1, A0, A, B, C, D, E or customizable sheet size. Predefined or customizable title block. Design of up to 256 layers. Automatic area sketching. Automatic quotation.

Cabinet and mechanical detail design
Special symbol libraries with scale design functions, automatic dimensioning, multiple layer management.

Design import/export in DXF format from other CAD programs
DXF interface to import designs in DXF format from other CAD programs (e.g. planimetries processed with AutoCAD® 12, 13, 14, 2000, LT).

Symbol legend automatic creation
Automatic extraction of the schematic legend with symbol direct computation.

Cable management
Possibility of setting out cables in a design as collections of several single wires. Online cable management with direct control of the maximum wire number permitted for each cable. Command to set cable features such as section, length, type, color, etc.

Part lists, bills of materials, terminal strip/cable/wiring lists
Very simple and immediate creation of part lists and bills of materials by indicating which kind of information must be visualized. Terminal strip, cable and wiring list extraction in electromechanical multi-sheet designs. Customizable lists as regards both graphical format and contents categories.
Terminal strip and cable lists automatically extracted both in alphanumerical and graphical format.
Possibility of using UNI-TOOL Automation in connection with UNI-TOOL Manager for more complex bills of materials and special functions (labor tables, cost analysis, warehouse management functions, etc.).

Electrical device database
Complete database with part numbers, descriptions, prices, etc. that can be used in connection with symbols placed on the design. Possibility of using either the internal UNI-TOOL database or external price lists provided by other electrical device suppliers (the following formats are supported: Microsoft Access®, Microsoft Excel®, Paradox, dBIII and dBIV, Metel).

Text translation
Special command for English, German, French, Italian and Spanish text translation. Unlimited possibility of adding new terms and their related translations.

Label creation with Grafoplast and Modernotecnica labelling systems
Direct interface with Grafoplast and Modernotecnica labelling systems to create labels for the device numbers used in the electrical design. File creation to produce labels with component, terminal, terminal strip and wire numbers.

Color print/Print preview
Possibility of using any ink-jet/laser printers and plotters supported by Microsoft Windows®.
